St. John's Lutheran Men in Mission (LMM) welcomes and is committed to

strengthening the spiritual development and witness of all men at St. John’s.

St. John's LMM meets at 6pm on the first Monday of each month (Sept.-May) at St. John's for fellowship, a meal, topical discussion and business. All men of St. John's are welcome and encouraged to attend.

St. John's LMM provides support to local efforts, mission congregations in the SC Synod and the ELCA. Some of St. John's LMM recent service projects include:

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper (pics from the 2014 feast)

Easter Breakfast (following sunrise service at Biggerstaff)

Oktoberfest (in cooperation with WELCA; LMM pays for the entry fee and puts up the tent and WELCA provides bake goods for sale, hot chocolate, hot coffee, hot tea, along with financial support from Thrivent). The profit is divided between WELCA and LMM for charity projects.

LMM enjoys fellowship while conducting a variety of service projects to support St. John's and local charities, such as Safe Harbor (support and shelter for victims of domestic abuse - recipient of proceeds from the Walhalla Oktoberfest), and ELCA outreach efforts such as the ELCA Good Gifts. St. John's LMM also works collaboratively with the SC Synod LMM to support various mission congregations.

South Carolina Lutheran Men in Mission provides financial support of mission congregations through three programs:

  1. Gift Fund,
  2. Loan Fund to congregations that are struggling, and
  3. New Mission Start Program (e.g starting five new missions a year…)

Also, the Committee of 100 is to encourage 1000 men to give $100 each year to the Gift Fund.  Both women and men are encouraged to give to the Gift Fund.
